WHAT IS THE T38 PLUS?
The entry-level grinder market has felt quite stale for a time. You are typically forced to make a compromise: either buy a cheap, loud plastic machine that delivers uneven grind particles, or shell out half a grand for a countertop monolith that takes up your entire kitchen.
The Geimori T38 Plus single-dose coffee grinder is set to change the game.
The grinder packs an advanced feature set into a remarkably tiny, travel-ready body, managing to bring genuine precision to espresso and filter coffee without demanding a premium price tag.
Visually, the black aluminum profile and stepless dial lend it an aesthetic that punches way above its weight. It sits effortlessly on a crowded desk or in a suitcase, tipping the scales at a weight that feels substantial but completely manageable for a traveling barista.

WHO IS WIRSH/GEIMORI?
Wirsh is an American-registered company with Chinese manufacturing roots, founded with a focus to excel in home espresso and coffee equipment. The Geimori grinder line — launched originally as a Kickstarter with their flat burr GU64 and GU78 models — generated genuine specialty coffee industry attention when Sprudge covered it in 2024, describing the feature list as reading "like a deeply nerdy Reddit r/coffee thread."
The GU38 is their most accessible entry point, with conical burrs, smaller footprint, lower price — but built with the same all-metal philosophy and aesthetic as the rest of the range. This is not a brand pumping out white-label generic gear. There is genuine engineering intent here, even if the execution is not flawless at this price point.

DESIGN - WHERE IT GENUINELY EXCELS
The Geimori T38 Plus is engineered to handle everything from espresso dialing to coarse filter extractions. Whether you want to brew a perfect shot, or steep some coldbrew overnight, this grinder will cover your basics.
The 38mm conical burr is powered by a low-RPM motor that spins at a controlled 190 RPM to prevent heat transfer and preserve delicate aromatic compounds. The main sticking point between this and the larger models is the inclusion of plasma anti-static technology designed to neutralize static as coffee particles exit the chute.
The grinder swaps out traditional stepped click-wheels for a true 0.01mm stepless adjustment wheel, offering infinite control over your grind size. It skips an internal battery entirely, relying on an external AC/DC power adapter to deliver stable, high-torque crushing power across all roast profiles.

The Positives
- The build quality feels incredibly robust, premium, and free of cheap plastic, providing a stable foundation on the counter during even light-roast grinding tasks.
- Grind consistency from the 38mm 6-axis conical burrs is highly impressive, yielding excellent particle uniformity that pulls clean, vibrant pour-overs and surprisingly balanced espresso shots.
- The internal motor and gear assembly operate with an exceptionally quiet, low-frequency hum that won't wake up a quiet house or disrupt a peaceful morning.
- The 51mm magnetic dosing catch cup is a nice touch, snapping into place to prevent stray grounds from spilling onto your workspace.
- The stepless adjustment grants infinite micron-accesibility, making it an absolute breeze to dial in complex shots on non-pressurized espresso baskets.

The Negatives
- The aesthetic hits a weird snag with the wood accents; the natural wood grains used on the top lid and the wooden base panel do not match each other in tone, which looks distinctly out of place on a premium device.
- Coffee retention inside the grinding chamber can be problematic, requiring a manual thump of the bellows to clear out trapped fines and achieve a true zero-retention workflow.
- The markings on the dial-in wheel are a bit cheaply etched (see photo above), and look like they won't last for too long.
- The external AC/DC power brick is very large, completely undermining the otherwise tiny, ultra-portable footprint of the grinder itself when packing for travel.
- While the physical power button feels tactile and high-quality, the system entirely lacks an automatic shut-off function, meaning the motor will just keep spinning idly until you manually press the button again after the beans finish grinding. It would have been fantastic to have an auto-off function on a grinder of this price.

Final Thoughts
The Geimori T38 Plus is a highly capable single-dose grinder that delivers premium grinding performance inside a beautifully scaled-down frame. It manages to deliver the workflow elements of premium brand -like a magnetic cup alignment and a continuous stepless dial— at a fraction of the traditional cost.
It does come with a few quirky design oversights, like the unmatched wood paneling and a power brick that looks like it belongs to a gaming laptop. But if you can look past those visual mismatches and don't mind manually clicking the power button off once your dose is ready, the grind quality and whisper-quiet operation make it a massive win.
It is a fantastic option for any coffee minimalist looking for a dedicated single-dose espresso and filter companion that respects both counter space and budget limits.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can the Geimori T38 Plus grind finely enough for true espresso?
Yes. Thanks to its 38mm CNC stainless steel conical burr set and an ultra-fine 0.01mm stepless adjustment mechanism, the T38 Plus can easily grind fine enough to build appropriate pressure in non-pressurized commercial espresso baskets.
Does this grinder have an automatic shut-off feature?
No. The T38 Plus requires complete manual operation. Once you press the power button to the motor will run until you physically press the button a second time to switch it off.
How effective is the anti-static technology?
The built-in plasma anti-static technology does an excellent job of preventing grounds from flying wildly out of the chute. However, because the internal retention can still hold onto fine particles, you will still want to utilize the included top bellows to physically purge the remaining coffee out of the path.
Can I run this grinder off a portable USB power bank?
No. The T38 Plus requires a connection through its AC/DC power brick. It is compatible with global voltages (100-240V), but it must be plugged directly into a wall outlet or a heavy-duty portable power station to operate.
