MILK AWAY | SEVILLE

PLANT BIASED PERFECTION

Taking a much needed break from the tapas slaughter of Seville, I discovered this vegan-friendly brunch spot was a hop-skip and a jump from my hotel.

Walking in my worst fears were realised: Snowflakes with loud voices discussing honey. I ordered via the QR code and to my relief a table out front became vacant. I closed the door on the rabble-rousers and found tranquility in the shape of a solo spot by a high table.

Restaurant exterior with two men seated, motorbike parked. Pink awning, white building.

Perusing the constant inflow of customers ordering take-away I guessed I was in for a treat. The sun was spilling onto the lane infront and the wind was just able to cool but not cause havoc. My cortado came out nestled on a tiny plate. Bitter. Spain just doesn't know how to make coffee do they?

Thankfully the brunch bowl would cast aside all memory of insufficient caffeine seduction. After a brief wait the server came out balancing a bowl of goodness with a tiny jar of granola. I quickly mixed it all together and dove in.

The smoothie mix that acted as a vessel for the fruit and granola was perfectly chilled, adding an extra element to the overall experience. If it had been room temperature this wouldn't have worked the same way.

Hidden under the purple, glistening lid was a collection of banana, pineapple, mango, strawberries, acai berries, grapes and blueberries. A veritable host of health. Everything worked together like a well oiled machine, nothing overpowering the other ingredients, and nothing added frivolously. This was a well thought out bowl of food and it tasted divine.

I scraped clean the bowl and walked back inside to thank the chefs in the kitchen. Not only for preparing a delicious meal, but also for the fact it was the perfect temperature to enjoy on a sunny, spring day in Seville.

I'll be back Milk Away, I'll be back.

Hidden beneath a pile of graffiti laden walls, lies this tiny Thai kiosk. You won't get the best meal of your life here, but there are plenty worse places in Helsinki.
