Phad Thai 5 Rod | Chiang Mai

WINNER WINNER CHEEKY DINNER

In the 20 years I've been coming to Thailand, I can honestly count the plates of Pad Thai I've eaten on one hand. I literally never, ever order the dish. However, a friend was visiting and we decided to try this place which has a couple of branches around town. On word of Andy Ricker the best one was to be found near McCormick Hospital, but we didn't have time to head there on our rabid coffee cult movements around town. To be fair, even if the other branch was better this was a case of "It's just Pad Thai anyway" for me.

For all intents and purposes I've had way worse, and had better. An old one gloved man on Sukhumvit Soi something back in the day still holds the title as best one, but this was nothing to sneer at.

Friendly service, good portion, good taste though slightly underseasoned (but that's what the basket of condiments is for), I had my Pad Thai fill for the next ten years and don't have to worry about it again.

If you're hankering for Pad Thai in Chiang Mai then this is definitely your go-to.
