TIMEMORE FRENCH PRESS

BENJAMIN SAND

The Timemore French Press promises to blend sleek aesthetics with clean brewing performance, offering a modern take on the classic immersion method. Known for its signature design language, Timemore delivers a product that looks at home in a minimalist kitchen or a travel kit. But does it truly deliver on taste, build quality, and ease of use? Here’s my take after weeks of brewing.

I’ve always appreciated Timemore for their ability to make functional gear that looks and feels premium. The Timemore French Press is no exception—its sleek glass body, fine mesh filter, and solid weight give it an immediate sense of quality. It’s also versatile enough for brewing coffee or tea, which is a bonus for travelers and minimalists like me.

That said, my experience wasn’t flawless. While the press delivers a smooth and clean cup, it lacks the robustness and tactile satisfaction of higher-end models. The handle can feel slightly small for a solid grip, especially when pouring a full batch, and the plunger mechanism doesn’t feel as refined as it should for its price point, the silicone ring slipped off on many occasions.

Still, it’s a well-designed option for those who value looks and portability as much as function.

Who is Timemore?

Timemore is a forward-thinking Chinese company that has quickly earned a respected place among the world’s leading coffee equipment makers. Founded with a vision to blend precision engineering, beautiful design, and everyday usability, Timemore now offers a wide family of products — from award-winning hand grinders to elegant pour-over brewers, kettles, and scales.

What makes Timemore truly remarkable is how they consistently achieve harmony between craftsmanship, functionality, and price. Their grinders, for example, deliver performance and consistency on par with much more expensive competitors, while their attention to design aesthetics sets them apart in the market.

It is rare to see a brand that so naturally combines innovation with accessibility, and Timemore has managed to create that balance in a way that continues to impress coffee lovers around the globe.

The Positives

  • Sleek, modern design with high visual appeal.
  • Glass body with good heat retention.
  • Versatile for coffee or tea brewing.
  • Compact and portable for travel setups.
  • Having a silicon base makes the experience of setting it down on glass or marble table-tops really satisfying.

The Negatives

  •  With no handle it could be more ergonomic.
  •  Plunger mechanism feels less premium than expected, and the silicone ring came loose a few times.

Final Thoughts

A great travel companion. Stylish enough for home-use also. The only downside is the silicone gasket seems to come undone quite often. Apart from that, I received many comments about how it looks different to typical French Press, and looked less likely to break.
